What color do you all think this one is? Blue or Self Blue (Lavender)?

The egg was labeled as White Lavender Silkie Showgirl, it just looks a little dark to be a Self Blue/Lavender. But I've never seen one in person so hu.gif

I sold my first batch of Silkie eggs on e-bay.  I was so excited!!!  I got $17.50 for 10+ eggs.  First time ever selling eggs so I was pretty psyched!

Do any of you know anything about the color Calico in Silkies?  I have 3 eggs in the bator that are calico.  I also have 2 Porcelain and if they turn out as pretty as yoie's baby I will be pretty excited.

I will be excited with whatever colors I get.  big_smile.png

I no longer have Silkies since they've been sold locally a few days ago.

Was there an X between the white and lavender?  Have you contacted the breeder to ask?

I just bought my first Silkie bantams about a month ago, but they are just some hatchery chicks I felt sorry for and bought because I was afraid they would die in the feedstore.  Yes, I have sucker written on my forehead.  One of them had a crooked foot, but I have it all straightened out now and it looks perfect.

I don't have any really great pictures of them yet (will try and take some this weekend), but here is a silly photo of them with some other chicks.  The 2 on the left are Buff-laced Polish, then the middle is a Buff Silkie in back and I think a Partridge up front, the 3rd Silkie, which you can only see the body of is colored between the buff and partridge so no idea what color it will be when grown.  The chick on the right is a Mille Fleur D'uccle.  Anyway, I put the water base in there with some feed, in addition to their feeder because they like to scratch around in it.  When they are done scratching, they sleep in it.

Like I said, I will try and get new pics this weekend.  They are starting to get their poofs up top now and look hilarious.
