Thanks!

Yeah, I've had 3 birds shipped to me that were about 5 months old.  They have all bonded and they come running to me when they see me.  Of course, I bribe them with treats-- BOSS (black oil sunflower seeds) are their favorite!  My cockerel is my favorite out of the bunch, he is just the sweetest.

At what age does a Silkie start laying?  I have one that is a little over 6 months old and nothing yet.  I know that she is a hen.  I have 3 in a coop together.  they are all the same age and the other 2 are crowing.  I guess I am just being to impatient.......th.gif

My question is this.  Does anyone sell bearded silkie chicks that are sexed?  My town won't allow roos....  :(

Thanks!!   frow.gif

My Pet Chicken does DNA sexing, but there is a minimum depending on where you live and they are a bit $$ imo.  But they do sex them there. No idea if they are bearded or not, though.........

Its head is also shaped a little weird... kinda like... like a baby when it first comes out and the top of its head is squeazed all funny... Like that. Well anyway... Should I give it some vitamins? How much? Should I take a pic? I mean it literally is the same size as when it was hatched 5 days ago...

Pics?  Sounds like he may have a vaulted skull.  Are the other chicks lf or bantams?  I had one of mine walk completely backward with it's head between its legs the other day.  That's what I call a backseat driver!  gig.gif

I hope my little Peepers R. Fluffybutt looks like one of these (brown) gorgeous chickens when he/she grows up!!

Are they both considered Partridge?

Orange Sherbert is gorgeous too!

No, Orange is some variation on buff.

Sonoran your the one who swore Orange Sherbert was/is a splash partridge. He does have splashing in the wings, and remember he did come out of a partridge/blue partridge pen....the father to him was a blazing orange and red partridgey roo.

American silkies are classified as a bantam.

Europe they have bantam and standard class silkies though the standards aren't very big only about 6 lbs
