First, watching a runner duck run is awesome. They can find their own food. They aren't like pekins in water. Mine haven't started laying but I heard their decent.

Its not as fat and slow as a pekin, but its not frail either. I want a mallard but I don't want a flying bird. The rouen is great for that.

They are my calmest birds and are easiest to catch. They eat less than Pekins. I heard they also lay well, but mine are younger.

I'm on picture overload again! lol Took about 250 pictures today.

Wanted to share some of the chicks!

I also have a random question that I thought of today as I was roaming the farm.

What age do the chicks start to eat food after hatching?

Moms just started bringing the babies outside a couple of days ago and they LOVE it!

This one has attitude! He/She is my favorite. Hoping for a hen, I'd like to keep this one. With my luck it's a rooster.

Those moms kick dirt everywhere, they don't care where the babies are. lol Same with the babies, they don't seem to mind the flying dirt.

This one looks like he/she thinks it's as big as the grown ups! lol

"Hey, wait for me!"

And last but not least. Not a chicken, but I thought this was a sight everyone should see! lol

Thanks guys!

I love watching them all. Sometimes the chicks take off and go do things on their own. lol Then they realize they probably shouldn't be wondering off to far and go "flying" back to the rest of the flock. And they love my rooster! He also seems to get the biggest kick out of the chicks, he really likes to hang out with them. The other rooster stays away from the children. lol I don't think he wants to be a dad!
