I am sure a second generation should be cleaner colored? Maybe?

When you look closer to my hypothesis you can see it all comes (as with every other inheritance) to selection to make the "pure" genetic combination to become the pure phenotype.

It's completely logical and calculable !

My silkie hen, Friend, was attacked by a dog yesterday.  She died in the middle of the night.  She was a splash silkie.  Going to miss her - she was sweet and docile little girl.

1 Silkie Rooster, 1 Bantam Brahma Rooster, 2 Blue Copper Marens Cockerels 1 Banatam Brahma pullet, 7 EE pullets,  4 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 2 barnyard x pullets, 10 Pearl White Leghorn hens, 5 Red Star Hens, 2 dogs, 2 horses, 4 sons, 1 grandson, and....Chicken Math has already taken hold here

predator did to him and the other hens that survived..he is meaner than you can even imagine; he even is mean to his own flock..& he attacked our son (no damage) and

attacked our 21 yr old daughter; nice hole in her hand..big time..

he is meeting the stock pot tomorrow.. :-(

and hubby/I were really leary of another Roo..

My Roo's are actually really nice I can pick all of them up and pet them some even enjoy sitting on my lap I have one that follows me around the yard talking to me. I have 8 Silkie Roos and am sure there will be some in the 10 chicks I am raising now. I have several living together with Hens and some living without hens. Just keep handling him/her to keep it friendly. I was leary of having Roosters based on past experience but have been pleasantly surprised.
