Your little cutie is too young to sex. It's definitely not black but not sure what color it is. Does it has red or brown in it or is that the flash?

No. The lighting in the morning just makes things look red. I assure you he/she is all back except the left over greyish yellow chest fuzz, which is coming in black. The only weird thing is how he tips iffy some of her toes are pink. She IS from a hatchery though, so what am I gonna do?

Sorry the photo is too small to sex. I don't think the are ugly. Looks like they have nice tight wings. Hatchery silkies often lack the extra fluff.

Pink toes usually turn black in time.

If you dont want babies then dont let them incubate.  If you just want the other hens for eggs, the roosters wont hurt anything in the edible egg department.  I eat fertile eggs every day.  The development of the embryo starts when they are sat on or incubated.  If you collect eggs every day, and put them in the fridge then you can have roosters with no chicks and great eggs.

My blacks were born black.  They never had any greyish yellow chest fuzz.

Neither did mine. I wonder if it's the skin... Let me go look.
