Mine are the same way! Yesterday they were given grapes and it took the longest time for them to go near the plate. Once they figured out that the grapes weren't going to jump up and bite them, two of the 7 week olds started to play keep away. One would run around with a grape in its mouth until the other grabbed it away and ran in the opposite direction! They did for a few minutes and it was so cute. Tina G

All silkies regardles of the color, bearded or non bearded should  have blue ear lobes and 10 toes love.gifAlso they should have mulberry - black colored wattles and combs , walnut shaped to be showable.

Is this right exsperts ?hide.gif

I love the blue ears!  lol...I never saw them until I picked her up to clip her feathers around her eyes.  I've held her, pushed the feathers back from her eyes several times, but never noticed the blue.  I like it.  :)

And yes, she has ten toes, but only 5 on each foot.   big_smile.png

Thank you for posting this, it just answered one of my questions. A black silkie of mine, Sissy, has black ear lobes. Its okay with me as I'm just using her in my sizzle pen, but it's still great to know that this is not acceptable.

I have 18 chickens, one kitten, 3 dogs, 2 hermit crabs, and live on 20 acres in the country. I am CrAzY about chickens and plan on getting more! I am continually working to better my chicken practices and to better my flocks.
