Mine aren't nearly as beautiful as the Silkies I've seen on this thread, but to me they're my Beautiful lil Fluffer Butts and I love them Haaaa !!! I'd love to share some pix to see what people think of my chicks but have no Idea how to earn permission to post. Any input would be helpful...otherwise I guess I'll just keep adding to my albums. Have a Great Day Peeps~!~

Some times you have to post a while, 10-20 times. I looked at your album. Your silkies are just lovely. Blue partridge is one of my favorite colors. :)  Welcome to our thread!!!

So, can anyone sex my 13 week old silkie???   big_smile.png

I used to think he/she was a boy based on the beak angle and how his/her crest first came in [kind of longer at the back].  But now I think he/she is maybe a girl based on the round crest, beak angle [seems less now] and especially by his/her behavior.  He/she is very laid back and quiet, with a low stance, never chest butts or mixes it up.  Hangs in the back and just looks around a lot.  Mellow mellow.

His/her comb is a little wide but there is no bump.  I have another blue the same age with a decided bump [who has now crowed].  Another 2 week younger white who has the good bump but hasn't crowed [this one also has a crest that is definitely longer in the back [windswept] and I think I see streamers coming].    The white pictured here has a round crest.  Perhaps streamers?

I'm sorry I couldn't get pix of the comb any better.  He/she did not like me pulling it back for a photo [hard to do alone!].

So, any guesses or strong opinions???!!!   yippiechickie.gif

It's looks girl  to me and add behavior  and that would pretty much clinch it. Make sure the lack of activity isn't a lack of visibility. Very nice juvenile!!

Pretty sure it's a boy. Streamers are starting.

He is 10 weeks old smile.png

Too early to tell. He is a shapely boy though. Could have better/heavier foot feathering. At this point he looks a tad out of balance. Needs more crest and cushion to balance things out.

But again, he is young.
