I just got their catalog which is kind of fun. Color pictures.

I don't know why I got it. I do not believe I have ever ordered from them.

I thought I might try a small order. What do you think? Has anyone else ordered from them?

It is much cheaper to order from a hatchery than to hatch your own, because if nothing else you can get all gals.

But I just LOVE hatching eggs, so I try to hatch out some that I really want to have nicer birds.

But I need to raise a bunch of them just for the eggs, so that means, for me, a hatchery.

We did the small order last year and I'm planning on ordering a brood for this year, tomorrow. Ordered 8, but they forgot to add my EE, so I only received 7. But all were packed well, with a heat-pack, and gro-gel. They even came a day earlier than I expected. For the 7 chicks and the small order, the price was roughly $60. Pretty pricey, but where we are, our options are limited. Tomorrow I plan only to order 3 chicks using the same policy.

My chicks are now almost 1 year olds, all sexed correctly (as females), and if not for the slip up with my EE, I'd have few complaints. But obviously, I'm not so displeased, or else I wouldn't be ordering from them again.

Have you ordered from another hatchery or broker in the past? More than likely if you did they may have came from Meyers.... basically when the order goes through to be drop shipped your name is saved on their database. Next year, you automatically get a catalog.

Well my goodness. You mean that when I ordered, say, from Cackles, it may have come from Meyers? I did not know that!

Very well could of. I know a lot of the hatcheries work together on orders especially if one is a lot closer than the other. I'm not saying cackle did that... but they very well could of. With you getting a catalog and never signing up for one, that leaves me to think that you were sent chicks from Meyers...

Some time hatcheries like other companies sell your addresses to other companies. That could been what happened. Like when you order from a hatchery all of a sudden you get every plant book under the sun

I have ordered from them and what you get is good quality birds they seem to a lot cheaoer tham anyone esle I have found.

I ordered from meyer 3 years ago. Unfortunately lost these birds to the neighbor dog with other expensive hatches over a year ago. The meyer birds though were great, did not lose one bird on shipment. They shipped them out monday afternoon and they arrived early tues morning, was expecting weds but very happy it only took five hours to get to my post office. I'm ordering from them again this year, don't arrive til may but they are the best in customer service and so glad they are closest to me.

I have ordered birds from them and would again. I wish they would update their website and go to online ordering though. I am pretty pleased with my birds from them. Overall, the quality was good.
