UPDATE: Hen is puffed up like a balloon--please help!

I know this is a very old post but I have a chicken with similar symptoms. She just started laying a few days ago, laid yesterday and today. Today she is keeping low to the ground, droopy tail, panting, fluid-filled abdomen. I was thinking of bringing her inside tonight and keeping her in while I'm at work tomorrow but I'm worried it will stress her out more. Any advice? Thank you!!

Where do we stick the needle. I read it could be that one of her breathing sacs is torn and that you have to put the needle between the first layer of skin and the muscle. How do you drain the abdimen
