Mary your pigs are very  smart, they can learn very quickly that a behavior has unpleasant results, I would suggest a small hand shocker, along with a strong 'NO' when he starts to do it.  Check your feed stores, its a simple solution, and with pigs a quick one.

I didnt realize he was a gilt, I thought that you were going to have LOTS of little piggies around and about !     

The pic of your barnyard, except for the emus kind of has an Ozark hill farm touch to it, makes me a bit homesick.   I cant quite picture that one in Alaska.

Sun is shining here, another moderate day about to happen, I am enjoying each and every one as a gift. Alaska has set snow fall and minus temp records this year. Michelle is in one of the most moderate areas, as it usually is.

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !   

We are now under a Winter Weather Advisory for this evening and tonight.....4-8 inches of snow......

I don't want to seem ungrateful for the nice winter we have had but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to snow!!!!!!!!  By the way,  the eggs have very active babies moving in them!  I think they are all going to be live wires!

I wonder if you can train pigs like a dog?  When my dog, Shadow, used to jump up on me as a puppy - I would push my knee out hard and say a firm NO.  Didn't take her long to figure it out.  It worked really well for her, but you have to have the ability to shove your knee out. 

I also refuse to pet her until she's calm - I won't encourage her to be hyper.  So now when she wants to be pet, she comes up to me and sits.

For the true Ozark Hills look, you must first gather toilets and tubs and arrange in the area. You do that, and then I will send you the blueprints for the ever so famous ghetto coops.

Mary, I love the picture of your farm with all the different varieties of animals. I do hope and pray that you will get the issues with your leg/back resolved.

Kathy, sounds like you have been very busy. At least it was great weather for you.
