“There's no such thing as a bad dog, Only bad owners and bad upbringings."

"Many people hear voices when no one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.”

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens ! thumbsup.gif

Icelandics, brought to Iceland by Vikings in the 9th century, winterhardy, freeranging, an ancient homestead breed that broods, a steady producer of white eggs.Very variable in color,  comb style  and feathering. Like Forest Gumps box of Chocolates, 'You never know what you are going to get". Heritage Homestead Chicken by 1,000 years of survival selection !

I cant wait until they get their adult feathering in...I am so curious what colors i have. Also two of them have feathered legs, so i am also curious what that will end up looking like.

Yes, I'm afraid I'm very discouraged.....one from the replacement eggs....eggtopsy on the other three showed only 1 of the 3 had a chick develop and it quit around day 16 or 17 maybe.  The one that hatched is beautiful.  The rest of my hatchalong is averaging about the same percentage.....sad.png

I've got to work this morning but will be hoping for lots of Icelandics under the broodies when I get home this afternoon!!
