Jake you may have to re-home them free on Craigslist as mixed breed chickens. I know you don't want to do that but you are running out of time. Speaking of time you are getting close to your big adventure! I hope you'll be able to get online from time to time and update us. We worry you know. I was dead beat after the 100 mile trip to pick up the wagon and I wasn't even driving!

Kelly and I got our turkey poults today! Sixteen sweetgrass sweeties. Friendly little buggers! They come running when they see me. Unfortunately when I open the cage door they keep on running and fall out! Luck for them they are close to the ground. I will put some padding down because I don't think falling on their heads really registers with them.  lau.gif

Cute poults.................green is for grass, gig.gif

I just wrote to Porter's yesterday to see if they had any idea when mine will ship.  Haven't heard a word from them since my order confirmation in April.  No response yet either caf.gif

Deb

The difference between breakfast and chicks, is the temperature you use to "cook" the eggs!

What breeds do I have?  More than any sane person would own.

Deb, Kevin at Porter's is a bit slow to respond but he does. At least he did to me. I hope your shipping date is soon. What time frame did you ask for? I said no later than the end of June but I order early in December.  What breed(s) did you order? Sorry if you already told me. Old lady brain here.

Makes me sad.

Maybe I should just forget chickens.

I am sorry....

so my little icelandic hen still has her issue.. bum leg. she seems to be getting a little better but when you lay her on her side she just lays there.

I put a penedesenca/welsummer x Cream legbar cross rooster in with her to keep her company. plus I figure if for some reason she is sick I will not have to dispose of another hen too...

ahh so bummed... but she seems much livelier with a buddy. I will give her a few more days and go from there..0627122009a.jpg
