Icelandic Chickens - Page 1639

I'm looking into it guys.

You most certainly do matter - there wasn't a choice on staying on the old platform, it was going to die in a big way.  We had no choice but to move and this was the best out there.

Breeding Welsummers and Barnevelders.

Having an Icelandic in the coop is like having a 2 year old in the house - they are into everything and don't follow the rules.

I have zero chicken willpower.

Okay, we had a big photo shoot today.

First pullet is one that I hatched from Mary (NotAFarm).

This is the second pullet from her.  This was the only one I got without a crest.

This is the first pullet from Mary (Sheriff), the crest is redder.

Second pullet from Mary, the crest is darker.

And now, the three boys, all from Mary (Sheriff).

I think this is the guy that's shaping up as our favorite.

Look at the feathers on his legs!

The difference between breakfast and chicks, is the temperature you use to "cook" the eggs!

What breeds do I have?  More than any sane person would own.

Yeah, I saw that picture earlier and thought,"that was a feather or two, we have FEATHERS" gig.gif   He is the only one with leg feathering.  The white boy, he is my close second.  The dark boy is a bit more timid (not to mention he kept pecking me when I got him out for the photos).

ETA - I just love them all!

so hard to choose...

I have 2 icelandic hens and two roosters. plus three young ones. will have to get pic's up of them. I am not sure if any are boys. they are way smaller than the Penedesenca's and my legbar crosses which are the same age. maybe half the size. I am sure two of the icelandic chicks are hens not sure about the other one that had the hurt leg ( my luck that one will be a boy)
