Hi Mary, Other Mary, Kathy et al, I love this thread and all the great pictures of the Icelandics on here. I'm finally up to Feb. 2012. You take great pictures! What kind of cameras do you all use? I'm shopping for a digital camera and will probably take lots of chicken pictures too. Other Mary, I love the rooster Drekki and your hen Elska. I hope that you'll hatch out some of their beautiful offspring. Thanks, Susan

Hi VA Susan, I should probably not admit this but I mostly use my iPhone.  It's so easy to use and upload straight to Facebook! tongue.png I also use a Sony camera my husband recently bought, but I have no idea what model.  I would go look but he's out with it.

Do you have Icelandic chickens?  If you do I'd love to see them :)

Thanks so much for the information, Kathy! I'll check it out. Icelander, I don't have any Icelandics yet, but I'd love to have some one day. I was hoping to get some hatching eggs from one of the posters here when he has some available so my little OEG banty could hatch some out for me, but sadly a predator just got my banty a few days ago. My husband doesn't want me to borrow an incubator so I'm hoping that eventually one of my big layers will go broody. The banty had eight eggs in her broody box and I've opened it so other hens can go in it. I have one hen who is visiting the nest almost every day and adding her eggs so I hope she might get the idea.

Some pictures of Lukka and her babies who moved into the big coop today. This one captured all eight babies.

This one cracks me up!

I am only keeping three of the Icelandics I hatched. The three white boys are going to farmer Fred. Isi is white so I don't need another. This is the one I hope turns into a good roo. He is going to be gorgeous.

Another pic of my boy.

Lukka free ranging with her brood. She is definitely in her element!

I think this one is a pullet and it might be colored like Miss Polaris. Nice crest too!

So sorry to hear about your little banty.  Fingers crossed that your other hen catches your drift so you can get some Icies...!

That looks like a very nice painting, your husband must be very talented :)
