@Kev Ive given this some thought and not just recently. If I didn't have others to consider here, I'd only have NNs and Dark Cornish. I have become very fond of the DC's over the last couple years and can't see not having them for the rest of my life. Will certainly be crossing them with NNs on a regular basis.
I'm really glad to "hear" this. The DC are still at the top of my list to acquire at some point in the future, and definitely to cross with my NNs.
Right now I'm rather impatiently waiting for the eggs under my broody hen to hatch, and also enduring the prolonged wait that comes from just having put eggs in the incubator. Fortunately, our business is requiring a lot of extra time and effort from me right now, which is providing a suitable distraction and keeping me from staring at eggs most of the day. I'm also still trying to finish up construction projects, but between the tropical depression dumping inches of rain on us these past two days and those pesky Africanized bees that FINALLY flew off....*sigh* I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now.
Hey! Has anyone else ever had a NN cockerel that wobbled it's head a lot? I swear my favorite cockerel does it just because his wattles and comb are so large, but he's the only one. I don't know if it's behavioral, or indicative of a neurological problem. ???
