I think I found my breed!
It doesn't matter if they are gypsy or fm, like it either way, but what is standard calling for?
I generally don't like very tame breeds like most of you guys like, but are they really that small? They look nice size especially roosters.
I thought that they are agressive because they look like asian game birds of some kind and I was really glad when you said they are not people agressive, but there are always exceptions to the rules.
They are much smaller than your current birds(which seem huge to me). Also they are loose feathered- long soft feathers.. that makes them seem bigger than they really are.
I don't need very tame birds either, I cannot handle the birds anyways due to allergies... but wild birds are annoying especially in a pen or coop.. so I like and breed for calmer birds mainly for the ability to walk into their pen without any of them cackling or thrashing about.
I don't know what the standard calls for... only thing I seem to remember is it calls for yellow soles on their feet.. not sure if that is possible with fibro birds.
Actually, most of the fighting or game breeds are not aggressive towards humans because they need to be handled quite a lot so man fighters(attacks people) are not desirable.. most owners cull out the man fighters.
Sumatras are strongly regarded as non-pet ornamental and have been for a long time so they are not strongly like the game birds. Maybe more like some kind of partly feral chicken, except bred to look a certain way best describes them?
Try a few sumatras at first, instead of replacing the whole flock and regret the mistake.. too many times a breed will seem fantastic... until you get some and turns out they don't really excite you after all.
