This was the U.S. postal service's fault.I didn't push it because all the chicks were fine and healthy. If they had not been then I would have made a complaint.

Despite the fact that the chicks arrived alive I can guarantee you that they didn't have a nice voyage. I'd send these pics to Cackle. If the USPS is going to be this hard on the boxes then Cackle needs to beef up their shipping boxes.

I'm appalled that some postal workers can have such little regard for living things. I know their "just chickens", but someone was callous about handling this box. sad.png

I have never seen such distruction with a shipment of live chicks.  Callous is a tame word !  I would use brain injured to describe the postal employee who did that to the package.

On a much different note, my pretty little serama like NN hen is sitting on six of her own eggs.  WOW I wonder if she will make all the way.

Nice bird, Flower.

I think you are being flattering to the postal worker who 'handled' that box.I would not have thought that he/she would have had a brain to injure.

Last year in February we had a huge snow storm and extremely cold temps. It took me almost 2 hours to drive to the post office to pick up my chicks. When I got there the man working in the warehouse had taken them and put them near a heater to keep them warm because he had chickens and didn't want anything to happen to mine. So thankful he was working that day!

I have never been a fan of the anked neck.

But I got some chicks and have watched them grow up and now they are turning out to look so pretty and when people come by the farm they think they are Turkeys and are wanting them. Then I have to explain to them what they are and show pictures and they take a fancy to them as ell and come back later to purchase some from me.

I am so glad I have decided to add these beautiful little birds to my flock and just as excited to see peoples faces and reactions to them.

Yes the pictures are wonderful.. like them very much..

I don't even know what kind mine are.

I have a couple black naked necks and some buff colored ones

what types are these does anyone know?????

Georgia Boy... I am so glad all your chicks made it OK!!! I can't believe the condition of that shipping box by the time it got to you. That is insane!

NN's are the best. I love them and the chicks are by far the cutest chicks ever!

Thanks I plan to take some more pics. Working this weekend.I only have one egg from my naked neck X polish cross hatching. A friend has some of the same eggs hopefully he has better luck. I was experimenting with a dry hatch. Only one egg is pipping and it is a day late. So hopefully I will have pics of that little guy. Will be putting naked neck X polish cross eggs back in and will go back to incubating the way I always have.
