Are you wondering why Sargent has that worried look on his face?

This is why! He has 4 roosters waiting for him to jump down! LOL He managed to get himself into their area and they weren't happy about him being there.

Sargent looks lovely.....pretty boy.

I think the crested NNs are VERY cool.

My Marv is looking like a very big (and very spoilt) girl........here she is sitting on my lap. She flies up immediately that I let her out of the pen and continues to sit there, preening and showering me with dandruff!

Marv is very pretty.     I lie the little tuft under her chin and I imagine with her sweet personality, she would enjoy hugs.   hugs.gif

Marv is very pretty! I like the eye color with her black feathering. Gorgeous!

Thank you for your kind comments....Marv is a sweet chick. The little whiskers always seem to come up in the cross breeds.

I find eye colours fascinating and would love to know a bit more about the genetics of eye colour. I had green show up in a 'Splash' rooster (bred from 2 Blue Partridge Brahma). I now have about 12 birds with green eyes.......including Gordon and several other NNs, so it must be a pretty dominant trait.

Blue/grey has now started to show up as in Marv.

My 'pure' NNs have pretty much black irises whereas the usual orange/brown colour is now in the minority of my other chickens.

So....are there 'red' eyes (no iris pigment) in those chickens who are albino? Has anyone got albino chickens or is albinism a lethal mutation in chickens?
