Chicken Show in Inverness Florida - THIS WEEKEND !!

As usual I can take photos but when it comes time to be in one I cannot keep my eyes open:p

That Morrison’s was on the way out of Brooksville on 41 on the east side of the road past all the fast food joints and it was nothing but all you can home cooked heaven. The nice fellow at the register was an Asian man so it might be the only "Chinese American home cooked meal restaurant I have ever dined at. I wish they were all over the place. $10.00 bought me much more than I could handle and they had a soft serve ice cream machine to !!!!!!

Great images of your winning birds peepsnbunnies!

Thanks Noshoes. But now that I know how fantastic a photographer you are, I may have to pester you about what I am doing wrong with this darn camera. The remote flash you were using really makes a difference, I just love how the combs and wattles came out on those roosters you took.

Good morning Karen: I had 5 Dutch in the show, did not do well. Billy has a photo of my LB cockerel sitting on my finger & a head shot of a CLB. The Dutch are becoming very competitive in the south east. Fl. has some excellent Dutch breeders, but as you can see we also have excellent breeders of other breeds. JB (Jack)

I am amazed, shocked and even gobsmaked!

I know some of you chicken veterans would say that was just a small show but I have to say I am glad my initiation into the world of chicken show was no larger than the Inverness show. I was running around like a, well you know. I could not take in all the varieties and it did not help that I was shopping for two chickens to take home. It was almost impossible to make a decision. The only way I finally did was due to the limited availability of the dozen or so breeds I would have liked to bring back.

It was a big help to have BYC’ers to take me under their wings. What a valuable resource backyardchickens is!

Here are a few images to whet your appetite I am so exhausted you will just have to wait till I take the time to write about this in my blog to get a more complete report!
