Look at all the Floridians! Who can blame them, no where is better to live.
I just thought Id drop a line here and let anyone who might be interested know, that Im placing an order from a hatchery for delivery in February for golden comet and white rock chicks. Ill place the order sometime in the next 10 days or so. Im ordering pullets only. If anyone would want a few chicks, Ill be selling them for $4, pick up only in Ocala. Im looking for some really good layers, and these are supposed to be some of the very best. PM me if you'd like some of these. No minimum. Ive already got a pretty good list of people who want some of these, so let me know within the next week if you can.
Sandi the Bent Creek swap in the 4th sunday of each month in Jacksonville. They stopped it for December and January but hope to have it running for February Here is the info on itl
Hey there, I live in Kinard, Florida. I would like to get about 10 or 12 Rhode Island Red hens if someone close by has them for sale. They would be living in Northwest Florida if I can find them and relocate them to our house. I collect Farmall Cub tractors and am really wanting to get into chickens. We have four hens but they just quit laying for no reason and won't start back. Any solutions please reply. Thanks,

I have a comet. She started laying early like around 16 weeks. She lays a nice size and color egg. She lays EVERY day and keeps pace with the leghorns. She is a lot less flighty than the leghorns. The comet is a tiny bird like the leghorn and produces like the leghorn, but has a better personality!
Hi,
I am in Blountstown. I have a friend who just got some. I will find out tomorrow and let you know where from. It was local. There was also someone is Scotts Ferry that had some. I will check on that too. Mine haven't laid in three months till just yesterday I got one egg.
Oh, welcome to BYC!

Yup, we live on the extreme south of Crestview so we;re right in Duke Field's backyard and we have been seeing more and more Coyotes between our house and the base. More deer as well. We aren't out in the sticks either. Also no shortage of raccoons either. We do live almost right on top of a little mini wetland about a mile from shoal river, it's one of the little offshoots of the river itself that creates the habitat. The land all around is developed but of course the wetlands are protected. Anyway, there is definitely habitat and we knew that when we moved here but in the last week I've seen more raccoons than I have in a year year 1/2 we've been in the house. Not sure why exactly but seems like displacement might be as good a reason as any. We just got our first chicks yesterday and we hope we don't have to big an issue when they are old enough to be outdoors. The neighbor two houses down has a duck living in their front yard for the past year.... or I guess I should say had a duck. The girls just knocked on out door asking if we had seen the duck today b/c it's time to bring him in I guess and they can't find him. Hope he's just nestled into a bush somewhere or something. Their dog ran away at a couple days before christmas, poor kids
