Mmmm, those breeds make nice BIG meaty roosters! You really should learn how to process them, you'd have yourself some nice tasty meals. And then you don't have to feel bad when you see those little combs on your chicks turning red, instead you'll know they'll be your dinner guests in a few months.

We could process - - but I don't have the space to store the boys I don't want. I have to have lots of brooder spaces for the babies. With three breeds going and two roos for each - - - I'll be up to 6 permanent roos by the end of the year. . . . That is enough crowing and testerone for me . . . I don't want them fighting because they are over crowded. The prime space will go to the keepers NOT the eaters.

I'm OK with someone else raising them up and eating them

With marans - - - you can see the combs by 3 - 4 weeks.

there are a lot of floridians still out there that have not registered or know about this thread, but they'll find it I'm sure Welcome from Ocala

Does anyone here know someone who could help me trap a bobcat that's been killing my chickens & ducks? I'm in western West Palm Beach. This b'cat has not been lured by any of the traps I've set, I find its tracks going right by them. I'm so broke I can barely afford to take a deep breath anymore, I know I cannot afford to hire a professional trapper. But I'm hoping to find someone who would help me for trade. Please email or PM me if you know someone who could possibly help me.

Excuse me Floridians, if I may tread on your thread. I am coming down to your beautiful state in a few weeks and I was hoping to find a resource to acquire fertilized call duck eggs. If there is anyone out their who has any for sale or has a resource for them I would appreciate the info. I will be in the Mt. Dora area. Thanks.

I just visited his site and I believe you are correct, no hatching eggs available. I do have some time for others to chime in with information, and thank you for your response.
