Really? Cool Ocala is a city I have in mind.. but it all hinges on a job lol
Hubby wants to transfer down there or find a job in his field. He's taking a couple courses to make it easier. I however am a menial labor slave so I can do anything. But we want to buy so I can have a place of my own to have quail and chicks, maybe(hopefully) my duckies too. We did live in Tampa years ago in an apartment complex, there were a lot of muscovies there..

Awwww Thanks Heather!!  We really enjoyed meeting you too.  Are you going to the Bellview swap? We plan on being there.

The chickens are all doing great and now EVERYBODY is laying, the OEGB laid the same day(3 eggs so far) and the Jap BT started laying yesterday - I guess they are destressed lol!!!  Hope yours are doing well,   I'm going to take pics tomorrow so I can see if the feed has any impact on the colors?!  Should be interesting.

Not sure about that swap, havent had a look at it yet! when and where will have to go see in that catagory! Been workin like crazy and when not working , mowing..so more workin lol

Been to the Clay County Fair twice now and will be heading back next weekend.  They have a lovely selection of chickens on display.  I never thought about all the eggs show hens would produce over an 11 day period but they have quite a few egg cartons filling up every day, LOL!

We gave up on finding a gentle hen and bought two Cochin pullets to raise ourselves.  We've always had large groups of chicks because most are for meat.  With only two in the baby brooder, they get much more attention.

5 free range guineas,  2 turkeys, 9 layers and a rooster, 1 German Shepherd, 4 indoor kitties, 2 outdoor kitties, 3 horses, 1 pony, and 1 donkey.  We also have a small herd of Dexter Cattle.
