Thank You, Ibeier. Silkies are nice chickens but get kinda costly  if you want show quality But pet quality is cheaper.So sorry about your silkie.

Attended our first farm swap Saturday. The rain blew away most that may have come. Still, we sold 2 chicks and met some nice folks. Had a previous customer show up today to get my contact info for her neighbor. Seems he loves her chickens and wanted to get some for himself. He was here in less than on hour after she left. I sent him home with a group of 4 that no longer needed brooding. I love the way word of mouth works. I also love the way my chickens sell themselves.

Florida farmer. Wife to Popeye. Mom to 2 sons. We breed & sell LF, dual purpose breed poultry. Marraduna Basque Euskal Oiloa, White Orpington, Heritage Rhode Island Red, adding Black Orpington and Rhodebar. We also breed & sell Glouchestershire Old Spot and Berkshire pigs. I have a mob of Emu that are not yet in production until the fall of 2013. It is a busy yet rewarding pursuit of happiness.

Has anyone been having a problem with fleas or ticks on their chickens? Cause it is so bad here. Been spraying Permethrin on yard and in runs but man oh man they have been bad for last year & this year.
