FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!! - Page 719

Hey, y'all, could you help me make wild guesses about what type of chickens I have?  I'm sure they're all mixes, but some have predominant traits.  If this isn't the right place for this let me know and I'll delete and repost somewhere else.  4 pictures - Nugget, Alice, Gracie and Myrna.  Nugget is larger and black.  Myrna is larger and reddish, Alice and Gracie look like little round sisters, both wiht fuzzy heads and Gracie has feathers on her feet.  They are all 8 weeks old in these pictures.  Thanks in advance.:

Nugget can't see well enough

Myrna looks like an Easter Egger rooster based on that tall comb

Gracie and Alice look to be Silkie crosses maybe EE silkie crosses

I would guess Alice to be a hen and Gracie to be a rooster

Wow that was fast, thanks!  I'll get a  better picture of Nugget.  I hope I don't have two roosters. That would be bad.  Gracie is the most shy of the four.  Myrna is fearless.

Nugget looks like an Australorp to me.  No idea on the others.

I think you are right about Nugget being predominantly Australorp.  Thanks!

I’m new here! live in Jacksonville, just starting to learn about all this stuff and whats what smile.png  If there’s any Jax members around willing to help out withe some questions I have that would be much appreciated.

Which breeds have you foun work best down here in the heat and sun?

I’m looking to have a small flock, maybe 4-6 birds mainly for egg production for me and my family. I have a fenced in back yard and plenty of space for a coop and for them to roam.

If your looking for brown eggs, I'd go with White Plymouth Rocks.  If you want white eggs, I'd go with White or Brown Leghorns.
