FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!! - Page 827

Celtic, your geese definitely need to come meet my Poms and Embdens.  They are so beautiful.

FuzzyButts, glad you found someone to work on those ponds.  You are going to love having waterfowl when it is done, but you really need to get some geese.  They are the best.

FloridaChicken, I hope you have a big freezer.  That is a lot of pork.

For those of you who live in the Plant City area, and are on facebook, I created a group so that it would be easy to keep in touch with each other:

Fuzzy you will LOVE having ducks, but I agree with PlantCity you need geese too. big_smile.png

FloridaChicken, we have bobcats out Herron the island. You just provide secure housing for at night like you would do any poultry.

Plant, thank you. We had a number of Buff Poms we rehomed as they were feather biting at the Sebbies and causing pain and blood. Very pretty breed, but can't have anyone picking on my curly beauties.

Just to let you all know for some strange reason I'm not getting my e-mails on my subscriptions.  I've had to reset all my preferences back to immediate cause they all got changed to on-site-only.  Don't know how that happened.  But they are still not getting through.  I thought maybe I was getting black balled.  LOL  Got all these bells and whistles on my new windows smart phone, which made it easy to keep in touch.  Hope it gets straightened out.

Do you keep in touch with the person who bought your poms?  I'll be looking for eggs or goslings next spring.  I agree, the Sebbies have to be protected.  It is too bad they couldn't work it out.

FuzzyButtsFarm, new phones are always a brain exercise.  Hope you get things straightened out soon.

Bobcats and other animals will dig to get to a free meal.Just like a coon has 4 fingers & a thumb just like us and they can figure out how to turn handles really easy.

Hey everyone! I hope all is well with yall! Things are going great here! Thanks to Celtic Oaks, we have 5 beautiful layers & an unexpected but amazing roo whom my sons LOVE dearly! (our last little girl should start laying very shortly I believe.) My camera broke or else I would share some new pics, hopefully I will have a new one soon. No predator issues lately either, I guess the hubby & I did a good job repairing our coop & run. It's been forever since I was able to get on here & see how everyone & their flocks are doing, SSSOOO glad I have my internet back up & going! Hope you all have a great night & HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all of the dad's & grandpa's on here!

Loving life as a wife to a wonderful man (my electrician), and a mommy to 3 sons (5,2 1/2, & 1 year old), some cats, a dog, 3 horses, a ton of cows, 1 beautiful Lop Ear bunny rabbit, 1 white EE roo, 3 EE girls, 2 Olive Eggers, & 2 black/split to lav (I think) americaunas!!

1958 that's why I mentioned secure nightime housing. Wire runs aren't secure housing. All of our geese and ducks have houses they go in at night, so no digging I or reaching in is possible. This is also beneficial for breeding season since they need to be split up. Makes egg identification simple when you collect from seperate houses and stalls.

Cindy, MrsMagoo here on BYC has all of the Poms we hatched this year. They are buffs though not grey like those you got this year. So if you add the buffs you will want to run them seperately from the grey for breeding. Always remembering that Poms should have distinct patterns, and not head/neck/back coloring ran together when selecting breeding stock.

The Sebbies are my first priority here, if others can't get along with them they don't last long. Hubby has buff dewlap Toulouse and we have Americans in lavender and blue.
