So I was adding eggs to my sportsman 1502, 2 days ago and after checking the humidity tray and securing the door I forgot to turn the turner back on. so it was almost 48 hours later when I found my mistake. So when I found this error I was actually getting into the bator to transfer some 18 day eggs to the hatching tray for lockdown. So does anyone out there know if I should expect the worst I had batches of eggs at various stages in there is it possible that they are all duds now? I'm pretty bummed out the eggs candled ok but I'm not very confident with candling yet so I'm not putting too much stock in that examination. Thanks for the advice

They're fine. I would rotate them right away though. Just give them a little hand turn in the turner. They're not all duds.....don't worry!

Yeah, I did the same thing! I was horrified to see the lil red light off! But all was fine. Flipped it back on and I only had 3 of 30 not hatch and they appeared to have stopped long before that.

Good Luck and God Bless!

Not a good thing, but by far one of the lesser things that can go wrong. I think if it damaged the eggs you woudl have seen blood spots when you candled, but I understand the not having candling experience. I have candled eggs before and don't know but I usually do not see a lot. How some people get the pictures they do that show the yolk so well etc has eluded me so far.

Well thanks for the quick replies to my post I turned the turner on immedietly after placing the ready to hatch eggs in the hatching drawer hopefully all will be well thanks for the thoughts I agree that positive thinking can truly make a difference. I was particularly excited about this batch because I recently acquired a new rooster so this batch will have some chicks of a different color. hope they come out alright. Is it as harmful for the unhatched chicks to continue to turn past day 18? maybe that would be better for a whole other post. thanks again everyone. I'll post what happens should see some peeps this weekend.

I have the same model. My wife did the same thing with ours. We still had 51 out of 80 hatch although there were 3 that were stuck to the shell and had to be freed and cleaned up.
