I know this is a thread about chickens, but I hope to get the word out, for it is desperately needed. Free spay and neuter in AZ!  I don't know about you all, but when I checked how much it cost to get a dog spayed, they wanted 400.00! EEP! Who could afford that?? So I became aware of this and wanted to share! wee.gifIf you are not interested or have no need for this, let a friend know who might be.

Bring your dog and cat out on March 25 to get them sterilized at no cost to you.

Kev, put me down for one of each. Thank you!

My family consists of 1 DH, who is more tolerant than anyone should be; 5 children, ages 7 and under and one due any day now; 3 totally annoying dogs, and 12 chickens!

Thanks again peeps for all of your best wishes, advice and condolences.

Sorry for all this, I feel like I've brought the board down a tad.

We are going to keep treating the last app spitz and try to save her.  If she gets to the point where she can't open her eye after a treatment we'll call it quits.

So on a positive note (for a change) I've got 9 of the 11 doors on the new tractor/brooder/grow-out pen done.  I'm going to screw the wire on after school and (lord willing and the creek don't rise), take the whole mess to AZ galvanizing on our Friday date night.

(Yes the Control Tower was thrilled to hear that.)

(Any one know any good restaurants on the west side that are on restaurant.com?) tongue2.gif

Thanks again folks - you chicken peeps are all good eggs!  love.gif

Ok, So I candled again today.  I found a sited here on BYC called:  "Candling pics: Progression through Incubation".  They have really good pics.  My eggs look like the 52 hr picture.  celebrate.gif So I think that puts the "due date" April 6th.  Is that right.  Guess it's too late for the Mahonri's Easter hatch, but I'm happy that they do look fertile!  Wish me luck.

On a sadder note, I'm sorry Mikey.  hugs.gif Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your little peepers.

Hey Mikey,

I am so sorry to read about Blinky and Peanut. I know how it feels to do everything you can for the peepers and then have to make the toughest decision. You have been a great Papa to your peepers. hugs.gif

Update on my Murphy (my dog) who has an issue with his eye. Took him to the vet and he has a large ulcer on his eye. He is on 2 different oral meds and eye drops. He goes back to the vet on Sat. Hopefully his eye will have improved. Otherwise he may need surgery to fix it or the last option is if it doesn't heal from surgery, he will lose his eye!

This has not been a good start to 2012 so far.
