My five eggs were duds...so I got these...THANK YOU KEVS-CHICKADEES, AND KEVS-CHICKADEES WIFE (sorry, I'm REALLY bad with names hide.gif)  Anyway, I just stopped by TOTALLY unexpected and left with one of these...

And a couple of these...

I ended up with 5 in all.

Momma says, "Thank you", actually all she said was "cluck, cluck, cluck".  Then the chicks disappeared in all that fluff.  *sigh*

My family consists of 1 DH, who is more tolerant than anyone should be; 5 children, ages 7 and under and one due any day now; 3 totally annoying dogs, and 12 chickens!

That's fantastic Arizonachicken!  That's great that she accepted them so easily too.  Beautiful chicks.   Nice job Kev and Mrs. Kev!  Is the lighter colored one from Chumly?

I suppose I should post a photo of my drake so people can see why Mikey is scared of him hide.gif.  BTW, where did you find the muscovy carnunkle-shaped pool?

Mikey is not "scared" of him...

Mikey is terrified of him!  ep.gif

Just for you Mikey!

I'm also thinking of submitting this photo for "stink-eye of the year"  Whatcha' think?

(By the way, this is his "good" side.  You should see the other.  I would have photographed it, but was afraid it would break the camera.

I think this is what Pastry and Memphis saw when Sonoran showed me that duck!

I just posted in the emergencies section but thought maybe someone here may know what Iris has. I am calling my vet tomorrow.

I was bathing her tonight as I had found some mites on her and eggs on another gal. Glad I soaked all of her or I would never had found this. What gets me is that I had checked her neck maybe a week ago and never saw this?? I am a bad chicken mama hit.gif

Yikes!  That looks painful.  I have no idea what it is, maybe an ingrown feather?  Can that even happen?  idunno.gif  You shouldn't be hard on yourself though.   We all know what a great chicken mama you are and that would be missed by just about anyone that wasn't specifically looking for it.  I'll be checking all of my birds carefully again tomorrow though.  I hope it heals quickly. fl.gif

How cute!! What breeds are they? My GLW is starting to exhibit her broody noises that she made last year. Will see if she "nests" as I would like to get maybe some eggs or chickies to put under her.

Mama Hen Chris: I hope your vet has an answer for you! Mrs. Kev, told me breeds...let's see, 2 CC Marans, 1 Blue Marans, 1 Black Orpington, and a possible Olive Egger. Sorry I won't have those BLR Wyandotte chicks for you. sad.png

Mama hen-  I hope iris is OK!  On a sad note by severally sissor beak one eye chick is starting to fade.  It was worth a shot that is for sure.
