Yes I put it in all my animals feed , If I get feed in the barrels i just add a cup  and mix it in or spinkle some on a treat or on the hay ect . it does something to the animals  poo ,no more smell and flys stay off the horses and kills worms. Also I dust my dogs with it and put around theyre kennels . kills fleas like crazy . also ants trying to get theyre food and scopions . I use it all over my property ,all animals chickens , rabbits horses, donkeys, dogs everybody here. ( Keep out of eyes and nose it is very drying including yourself ) This stuff is amazing ! Nature is great

I was at Higley Feed Friday. They had a bunch of chicks. So do the feed store a few miles East of there.

My nieghbors got 30 broiler chickens, they are ready for processing in 6 weeks of age , grow supper fast and they weigh 54-5 pounds soild meat birds. He husband also built a plucker and ive seen those videos useing them on youtube , works super fast.I will pass on the info to her. heres one thing I can pass on about what ive learned from processing. take a gallon milk jug cut the bottom out . place the bird head first so the head comes out the small hole. kind the main artery in the neck and use a medical blade and cut the artery to bleed the chicken out , plus you can insert a cat at top of head ,inbetween eyes down into the brain to sever the brain nerves . this is the most humane way and they dont feel it. Never just chop head off the head and let it run!  it shocks the body into spasm and the meat will be tough. then Blanch in boiling water for few seconds remove feathers , remove insides, remove head and feet last, clean and freeze.

OHHH, I just didn't need to read that!sickbyc.gif

Did you see the smiling goat picture?

Never heard of it either. Going to have to see what events they have in the future.

The website is awful (my first), but it's an easy way to see the pictures.....

I still need to finish off a little paint on the back side, we need to hook up the big waterers on the drip system again and need to put in hooks to suspend the roll-down window shade across the gravel, but otherwise it's pretty much done!

Unfortunately, my DH's fabulous "chicken tunnel" entrance with 2 right angles to keep out pigeons and mourning doves has not worked.  They figured out how to get in the first day....and three of our more, ahem, challenged chickens have yet to figure out how to get out in the morning...roll.png

Our chickens free range during the day and so we need to leave access to the coop open during the day for food/water.  We can't use a treadle feeder due to the wide range in shapes/sizes (wyandotte to serama to OEGB etc)  so we were trying to use an entrance the wild birds couldn't see into.

Do any of you have better ideas?  what about beaded curtains over a small coop door?  Would the chickens figure it out and/or would the pigeons/doves too??

Pretty nifty set up

I was in there for the first time on Friday at 6. When Higley Feed told me they were already closed, Adens was closed but still said I could shop. I wanted Pine Shavings but they were out. Found a treadle feeder for $38. Couldn't pass it up. The one my husband made fell apart and he didn't get the hint after much complaining that it needed to be fixed. Chickens are happy...I am happy.
