I put her in the sink and was going to let her sleep there tonight but the Control Tower disallowed that flight path.

She is in a small tote on the floor with a mug of water an an oatmeal muffin.

That poor hen has an adventurous life.  She has to be part cat (9 lives).  smile.png

Agreed!

She has been in the kitchen in a tote for a while now.

Doesn't eat much - I'm wondering if she just gave up...

I'm going to post on the app spitz page & try to get more info.

Grapevines sound great but how do you keep the hens and turkeys from eating the new plants until they get big?

You can buy tall vines and let them eat the bottom leaves.  Since mine were only about 6 inches tall when I planted them I had to put chicken wire around them.

They're grape leaf skeletonizers.  The chickens don't eat them because they have poisonous spines that are really aggravating if you come in contact with them.  Get some Bt (Bacillus thuriengensis) and spray the vines right at dusk (It degrades in sunlight).  Two applications over as many days would be better.  It's made from a bacterium that is naturally pathogenic to certain groups of moths but harmless to everything else.  It works quite well.  You can find it at Lowe's, sometimes Home Depot and always at your local nursery.

Thanks!

Pigeons and doves carry a number of things that can adversely impact chickens.  I'd do what I could to discourage them from intermingling with the chickens.

Oh, also, the reason I am so super excited about our very first duck egg from Cylo, is because no one in my family (other then my father) has ever had a duck egg before! I am super excited to see how it tastes!
