Duck leg injury

Hi I have got the exact same problem but I'm wondering if there is any home remedies you could feed the duck that could maybe give it a bit of energy or anything at all thanks

Hi,

A good duck vet is best. In the meantime,

could you tell us more about the duck? age, food, type of shelter and environment

I add a quarter teaspoon of turmeric per half cup of food as a natural mild anti inflammatory.

If the duck is lethargic, that is an indication of possible infection so a vet is really needed. Ducks can slip away fast once they show symptoms. But if it is nutritional, then a good duck food, plus vitamins with electrolytes and probiotics (find dosage on the package), enough fresh water and fresh air really helps.

Hi it's an Aylesbury duck about 2 years old..lives in a shed at night with other ducks and hens.. gets out every morning and is out in acres if land with waterfalls and burns..so gets plenty fresh air..it is eating and drinking good. They got left out late one night and may have been chased by a fox. I will try tumeric thanks Amy home remedies is good

My 6 week duck cannot walk. It's right leg seem to be dead and sticks out the side when its sitting down and it has to drag itself along with its other leg to move. Don't really want to take to the vet is it necessary?

Has anyone happened to notice their Ducks seeming tired when a leg is sore? I have a duck who this afternoon seems to be limping a little bit and I noticed him laying down next to the pool instead of foraging wildly like the rest of the Ducks. He also started standing on one leg and closing his eyes more frequently so I don't know if it's making him tired? The boys have been feisty lately with each other and are females and we've been having to also keep them out of a certain area because a lot of algae built up and stagnant water because the hot weather we had. So we're having to like more frequently heard them away from certain areas and I don't know if he may have pulled the muscle from that. I had another drink not long ago heard his leg and he was limping for a little while and would favor one leg and like stand with one leg up more frequently but I don't recall if he was closing his eyes more.
