I should have a final count soon, I am hatching now, 5 out with more working on it. Mine will be the same as Pepper's AKA Charley's as we shared a hatch. All Standard's, WLR's, and White's.

Best wishes for a dreat hatch Al .

To both Al and Charley , I know nothing about White Cornish color genetics , but learning more and more about White Ameraucana via email discussion with a breeder . She tells me the best birds carry everything ; dominate white , recessive white , and silver , plus various genes known to break up color ....................... such as those for barring , mottleing , splash blue , and columbian depending on what the line's developer thought best . When you cross out or test breed to another color those hidden genetics start appearing . [ And sometimes crossing two lines of whites gives you a surprize or two LOL ]

Color genetics for Cornish is pretty straight forward, and right now while these particular hen's are laying and the way we have everything paired, we are working on the pure WLR & Whites. We are getting 50% / 50% WLR & Solid white, with the pairings of a SQ WLR Roo over a breeder Quality White Hen. Then our F2 ratio's will be 75% white / 25% WLR with a White roo over a white hen. F3's will be 100% solid white. We are trying this until our young white Cockrels become fertile and our big adult White Roosters wait till spring before they start their dance.

By swapping and pairing with each others birds and then both of us hatching at the same time we can optimize our numbers better, goal of course getting a pantload on the ground this spring to be ready @ POL by September, then never stop hatching all through next winter. Of course the only downside is Charley and I will have to do some expanding of our accomidations LOL.

Maybe not all that straight forward . If memory serves , you said they were recessive white , some carried silver , then said the Hulk was dominate white . All of these work differently .

I just got my new order of Red Broilers in, going to compare these with the cornish. Then try Freedom Rangers next... then breed them all together and see what I get!
