White chick with some black specks...What is this?

Thanks for the genetics information. It's been very educational. I normally prefer purebreds, but thought it would be fun to venture into raising some of these mixed ones. I don't even know yet if they are male or female. For breeding purposes, I will probably try to breed my purebreds to other purebreds and try to get true silkies down the road. Good to know what's recessive and what's dominant regarding silkies, though.

Is there a book out there or even a web site that goes into detail about what chicken traits are dominant and recessive?

Thanks!

I have several of these kinds of birds too. We have several different breeds in the coop
!. Americauna
2. Australorp
3. Golden Polish
4. Golden Comet.
5. Barred Rock.

The males I have are Australorp, Americauna & the Golden Polish
The females I have are Golden Polish, Golden Comet, Barred Rock and Americauna.

Please tell me how I got white with black speckled chickens from these breeds.
Thanks!
