If Timmy had a German Shepherd he wouldn't have been in the well in the first place.

Ameraucanas, FBCMs, BOs, BLRW, EEs, bantam Cochins, Black Australorps, Speckled Sussex, Rhode Island Reds, White leghorns, and Bobwhite Quail.   1 Beagle, 2 German Shepherd Dogs, 1 cat, lots of honeybees,  2 grown daughters and a very handy and understanding husband!

Love the pics, can't wait for my own eggs (our first chicks are arriving in 3 weeks).  Quick question though, why are there dates written on the eggs?  Is this for incubation purposes?

Yup. Often when you buy hatching eggs, the dates are written to show when they were laid. smile

I'm inclined to agree but she was sold to me as a proper Marans and she looks like one, so I guess I was either ripped off or I just have to love her the way she is thumbsup

Mother to the amazing crowing bantam wyandotte hen, a light sussex cockerel who was supposed to be buff, Buffy the buff sussex, 2 mixed-breed Freebie Sisters and Hermione...the best momma hen. Also 3 labradors, a cat, a show cob and a miniature shetland and the most wonderful daughter EVER

Well, what color is it? Is it Olive or is it brown?  I LOVE my Olive Egger. I have only one, and wish I had more. (Actually, I just hatched a few this weekend gig  )

We write the dates on our eating eggs too.  Helps to make sure you eat the oldest eggs first (or so you don't end up selling the neighbor 3 wk old eggs that got lost in the fridge!)

NO MORE BIRDS - sold everything and moved for work.

It is impossible to have 'enough' chickens
