When do peahens start laying and go broodie on her eggs??

Depends on how old she is, most start laying at the age of two yrs some at three yrs if they are of age then they should start around March or April. And for the broody part, we have about 25 hens and we only two that has ever gone broody, So GOOD LUCK on a broody hen.

Depend on were you live, southern state peahens start early, northern state start in April.

If in large flight mine go broody after they lay about 6 to 7 eggs, I break mine up, to get more eggs. Sometime I let them hatch eggs end of laying season late July here or Aug. Peahens make great mothers........................

All my peahens lay at 2yr old.........

I have two one year old peahens. Do they need to have a peacock for their quality of life? The two are very bonded, grew up together, hang out together all the time, and really love each other. When they wander apart from one another for a short time, they begin to cry out until they come together with the other.

So I'm wondering about a peacock and if he'll be a welcome addition. I don't think I care about having peachicks.

My peahen has been mounted a couple of times by my peacock, that i know of. Here in the last week or so, she has been disappearing. Could she be laying eggs? She is 1.5 years old.. She hasnt been roosting in her normal spot the last few nights, she'll just sbow up the next day. Im confused.. Help!!

I raised my peahen from a chick. She just had her 1st birthday in march.. And yes she does have a nest, i found it this morning. As of today she is broody.. She hasnt left her nest with 4 eggs all day.

Oh, so she is a yearling if she was hatched in 2021. Not many yearlings will lay and even fewer will go broody. Even two year old hens are not very likely to go broody.
