Chickens are drinking dog pee - is this bad?

Told you this was a strange one! I did check to make sure they have water, and they've got plenty and it's nice and clean. They are a little bit over 3 months old so they are still getting chick start and grow. They also get all sorts of veggie treats and yogurt.

The greyhound is prone to urinary tract infections, so she is on some medicine to help prevent that... I'm not sure if that is something that makes her pee seem yummy to them for some reason!

And yes, the idea of eating their eggs after they have been drinking dog pee

Just caught ours doing the same thing today. So odd. I will have to research this further because I’ve had chickens all my 54 years and just witnessing this.

So, this is a weird one. Recently, we noticed that when our Greyhound squats to pee, our 2 chickens run/fly toward her like she is the fountain of youth. Her pee settles into the dirt, but they make sure to drink some before it does. Anyone know if this is something I should be concerned about?
Listen I just googled this as my chickens do the same thing…. Ewwwwwe! Apparently this is not a big deal and there is always, always, fresh water. However l, I did read that chickens prefer water that is on the ground, it is superior to them…. Okay smh

My chicken and dog have a symbiotic relationship. They drink his pee, he eats their poop. Both absolutely disgusting but the dog is healthy (in fact living way past the expected age for his breed) and I’m getting regular double yolkers from my four girls. My chooks are mature, so nothing to do with age. They do say that drinking your own urine is very healthy but personally I’d much rather not. My Chooks love it so much, they literally line up in wait for it. (Shudder) :sick
