I can see the sass in him/her already!

I built the chickies a perch and the Anconas love to fly up there!

I've read this whole thread cuz i'm researching different white egg laying breeds. So.....are ancona's typically loud? and could they fly a 6ft fence with a clipped wing?

They are very quiet, and yes mine can fly a 6ft fence with clipped wings, I may have done it wrong or they may have climbed IDK. They have never flown away they just walk along the top of the fence and then come back.

I am loving my Anconas they let themselves be held and they are giving me a white egg a day, they started late but they are earning their keep! they are very good foragers and only weigh 3 lbs and are very skinny for the egg laying.

Many times I have watched (Leghorns,Minorcas, and other medium and light breeds-bantams too)birds climb up the chicken wire with their feet clawing right up to the top and if there is no wire top, they will go right over it.They can do it with clipped wings and do it even better with normal wings.Secret is an enclosed wire top.
