We're getting there. I would say after my next cross I will feel good about calling them orps. I want to see how they turn out first though. They are getting very close and showing excellent type. Maybe by end of this year.
this thread is killing me!! i recently found eggs for sale of this breed semi-locally (very hard to come by here in canada) but i simply cant afford the $12.50/egg right now and then there would be trying to find someone else who has them and is willing to ship eggs so i have 2 unrelated lines to mix, just not in the cards this year, im working on building up my BLRW breeding flocks for next year (hatching eggs and growing chicks this year), they were costly enough!! though not so much as the lav orps. *sugh* maybe next year (looks wistfully at birds pictured).
