Lohmann Brown Hens

We have had Lohman Browns for a year now and absolutely LOVE them! We have access to them here in Oregon if anyone is interested. Yes, they originated in Germany. They are a medium sized brown/cream chicken with a great personality. They start laying eggs in 4 months compared to 6-9 for most other breeds. They lay large to jumbo sized eggs almost everyday. Easy keepers. Of all the breeds we have had we believe they are the BEST backyard chicken by far. [/quote

ISO Lohmann Browns in Oregon can you help?

Lohman UK is a British poultry corporation. http://www.lohmanngb.co.uk/ I honestly do not know if Lohman markets these commercial birds in the US or not. There certainly are similar commercial sex links that equal the Lohman and you couldn't like pick which was which from a crowd of them. Thinking more popular ISA Brown from ISA-Hendrick poultry.

Townline Poultry Hatchery, in Zeeland, MI has them. Here's the link. Townline Poultry Farm

I have three lohmann chickens. I bought them from an Amish man at the Soulard Market in St Louis, Mo. So far only one is laying, but they are jumbo, brown eggs.

Just for completeness, the breeder in Oregon that was eluded to was near Junction City OR. We picked up some birds back in 2013 if I recall and came from that breeder but I don't recall the name any longer and frankly dont know if they're still in business or not.

Hi there,

I am completely new to the forum and want to find out more about our newly aquired Lohmann Brown Hens. Besides keeping our established flock of Brown Shavers busy I don't know a lot about them. They seem very adaptable and friendly - but that might come down to the fact I speak German to them :) Looking forward to hear from other chook lovers, greetings from an autumn New Zealand (and sad looking molting Brown Shavers), hendini
Hi, just finding out about this breed. I'm looking for some to add to my flock. Looking for a reputable breeder in the United States. Can you help me? Thank you
