Why does my chicken lay brown and white eggs?

Any ideas because it has me really curious.

I have the same thing. I know they are from the one chicken. She is in a coop and run with only ducks. One day a get a white egg, the next day it will be very dark brown egg. So it does happen. She is also a black chicken. She was hatched with duck egg, so she is very happy living with ducks.

I have a hen that does the same thing. One day a white egg and the next day a very dark brown egg. She is the only chicken that lives with my ducks, so I know that they are her eggs. She was hatched with duck eggs and prefers to live with the ducks. I think she likes it because she is the boss!
