That's not protection, that's alerting. If the chickens listen they are alerted. Protection would be defending them, which geese won't do.

Your best bet is to have your own dog running around the property or one trained to stick close by to them. Or a larger animal like others have suggested. I also imagine that a flock of a dozen or more geese are going to much 'braver' than perhaps 2 geese. I only have 2 goslings currently and they are one of the larger breeds but I still consider them in need of my protection just like my ducks. I made sure their pond has hideouts for them, I check on them several times a day, if I hear them quacking up a storm I run outside to make sure they are ok and I let my rottweiler outside to roam frequently during the day (he leaves my livestock alone).
