Lunar eclipse about to start!

About 8:45 EST time I got out our telescope to get a closer look of the moon. It wasn't doing much at that time but I found the Saturn rings! I was so excited. I ran across the field into the house and dragged my DH in his shorts and t-shirt to come and look. Very cool. The fact that I saw something that is 800 million miles away is amazing.

Of course I called my step-daughter who is taking an astromony class this semester in college...."oh, I forgot about the eclipse. I didn't even go to class today". Apparently she was getting ready to go out dancing! The wrong priorities of the youth!

WOW, it was so red, my mom was complaining about the stark moonlight... but then the whole world got slowly darker.. and when it was fully eclipsed the whole family went to bed in soft red tinted light..

We have been waiting for this for months, so excited!! What happend?? We had a snowstorm come in yesterday about noon!! It was snowing so hard we couldn't see to the road! A little before seven, I decided to check and the clouds were moving quickly but now and then we could see it for a few seconds!!

We were also able to see Regulus, but not Saturn:idunno Cool pics though, thanks:clap

We watched it over here was worried the clouds would cover it but the sky opened up nicely. We watched it from the roof of our house.
