Thought I'd test things out by posting some pics of our babies.

The four black ones are barred Rocks, there are three RIRs, and one (according to the feed store) Ameraucana (sp?). In one picture, one of the Rocks is looking right at the camera. We call him "Bossy." That is the view you usually get of him, standing on the highest point in the brooder with the "hairy eyeball" stare. With the attitude, I'll be surprised if he's not a roo. (Six of our chicks were "straight run" and two pullets.)

The little roost came from my firewood pile. The chicks looked kind of bored so I thought they might like it. And do they! They roost on it, fight over it, jump off it, peck at it, etc. We're expecting to have quite a lively flock, considering how active they are now, fighting, flying (well, trying to fly), and generally running around.
