I made the big mistake of painting my chicken house while the gosling where inside. They are a beautiful yellow and RED now! My wife is all worried. I think it's funny. She asked me to blog and see if anyone had any ideas! Thanks!

I tell you what....my wife has tried to scrub it off with soapy water. Now, they are wet. When they dry, I may take a pic and post it on here. Check later. This is so funny! At least the chicken house looks good!

Soapy water won't take off oil based paint. Shortening will, and peanut butter, but I don't know if either of those is good for your little ones.

My DD once "misted" my cockatiel with Murphy's Oil Soap, trying to be a big girl and help.

Dawn dish soap saved my cockatiel and it's what they use on wild waterfowl after an oil spill. Don't see where it would hurt to try.

Ohhhh....You've gotta post pics of this one!!

As for how to get it off........well sorry I cant think of anything that would be safe.

Good luck!

Originial Dawn dish liquid is what they use on birds that are in oil spills...try that and dry them well...

Dawn is indeed what we use for oil spilled birds. With wild birds, the wetting and soaping process temporarily diminishes their ability to keep warm because the natural oils are washed away. This ability returns when the oils get replenished. Your birds may need to be kept in comfy warm temps if the cleaning process gets more than just a little bit of them wet. It is usually also quite stressful for birds to be bathed so quiet and efficiency is important. Do not get soap in eyes.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the birds before my wife cleaned them. It looks like Dawn dishwashing detergent does the job! There is still a little on them but I think that's enough for today. As for as getting cold? You gotta be kidding. We are talking about geese! ha Thanks for all the help. Have a nice day!
