******ALL ABOARD! We're looking to start an EGG TRAIN!*******

OK, I was asked to start this thread, so I'm not the only one that would like to try this.

With so many bad shipments by the U.S.P.S. lately, we would like to start a revolution!

This is how it would work and any input for ideas are welcome.

You want to buy or trade eggs with someone out of your area or out of your state. PO sent you the last smashed or late box you are going to deal with. Maybe you haven't even seen your boxes.hit

Along comes the EGG TRAIN

Some one on the train is taking a trip and going the same way as your delicate little eggs. OR............Someone is going to be in the same area as another person who is closer to your area and then on to a destination close to the person you are sending these little future guys and gals too. jumpy

You would list your pick up place and destination and a transport would be mapped out and the package could be picked up at a set ronduve point along the line. They're safe, they're handed straight into your hands and hopefully in MOST CASES it would be FREE!

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen that's what I said.   FREE!  clap Not always but usually.

I did this a few years ago with transporting dogs. Mind you I was not the one in charge and I would need a lot of help from those who would like to see this happen. I know we could do this. In some cases we could even transport the birds themselves (depends on laws from each state), but imagine the possiblities!celebrate

To start this off, please check in here and lets get started with some plans.  It's summer time! People travel a lot during the next 3-4 months and although it may not work everywhere we can get it started and see how far we can get it to go.

A big help with this project would be truck drivers. They travel all over the country and go to areas some of us may never travel to.

Bus drivers would be another option.

Think of a few more.

Who's going to join the REVOLUTION and get on the CHICKEN TRAIN??????

I think it could really work if enough people get involved.
It could be fun to. You could meet some of the members here and maybe be able to order more eggs than you would have been able to otherwise.

I love this!!! I'm in Leicester, NC (right outside of Asheville) and have several trips planned throughout the summer up and down the eastern seaboard.

I'm curious if the moderators might have some ideas on how exactly to organize this onto some sort of shared map/spreadsheet type program...hmmm.... How did it work with exactly the the dog train?

Sorry, I got off topic!

I'm on the Eastern Shore of MD.  Don't know if I can help in any way, but I'm willing to try!

Please spay and neuter your pets. Shelters are full of carelessly bred animals! There are dogs and cats dying every day because there just aren't enough homes!

YES!

And it would be great to have a spread sheet ect for this.

I wasn't an organizer for the dogs but I did find someone who managed to do a great job. I had some important family things going on at the time.

Any and all help is welcome!
