Great idea! I'm always ready for more hatching eggs!

On another note, since there are already 3 of us from NC that have posted to this thread, what do you thing of a Meet Up later this summer?

Absolutely, that would be wonderful! I know there quite an active group of WNC folks (and greater NC at that!) that are active on BYC, I think it would be relatively easy to get a good group involved. Has there been any sort of NC meetup in the past?

I would LOVE this and we used to have get togethers and swaps via NCPoultry, but the main coordinator passed away and I work on Saturdays so cannot coordinate them or go. :-(

Would love to go to a meet up, providing it's not a day that I work (I work every Saturday until early afternoon, 2-3pm at least.)

This is a great idea! I personally feel that shipping live animals is not a good practice. I have realized that there aren't a whole lot of people selling chickens that I want in my area (Wyoming). Let me know how to sign up on the list!

To many pets: 3 dogs, 2 rabbits, 4 cats, and 8 chickens, 4 kids and 1 husband in Iraq. Northern Wyoming

I'm curious if the moderators might have some ideas on how exactly to organize this onto some sort of shared map/spreadsheet type program...hmmm.... How did it work with exactly the the dog train?

Oh so sorry I missed your post. I got all caught up in the eggcitement LOL
How it works is:
Example- wolftracks is sending me eggs, she is in CA I am in NC She would meet someone near her that is traveling East (towards me) and pass the eggs to them and they would then meet someone else along the way and pass them off and so on until they get close to me and then I pick them up.
It does not neccesarily have to be a long trip for any one person unless they are willing to go further.
Like I just offered to go to Mocksville to meet someone for someone elses eggs to be delivered
I could also add that I can volunteer hubby to deliver or pick up in Winston/Salem to Lexington. Since he works there that would be on his normal route so no extra trip for him.
Hope this helps big_smile

I'm aboard! I'm in N. FL have family down south and lots of friends in TX and a car that gets GREAT gas mileage! I've got family up north in MD and PA. I've got connections, Hell I probably have the whole East Coast covered (don't quote me on that though, LOL)

Anyone heading to the east coast from Oregon? Theres a pair of Roos there I fell in love with <333

I'm the Jinxed Pullet
"Baby, will you make me a sandwich?" "No! Get off the game and do it yourself!" "I'll buy you a chicken.""Would you like the crusts cut off?"
I was thinking, wouldn't it be easier to call a Double Quarter-Pounder a Half-Pounder?

Oh good cause I was going to do that, but now I don't have to. lau

I'm having pc problems and been getting knocked off here so going to add website addie for you all to check out. Let me know if this is going to help.

www.milepost.com

Gotta pick up son soon, but I'll be back.................oooo I sound like Govenator.

I tried to sleep, but couldn't. I kept coming up with ideas. Took a shower instead.celebrate only thing that resembled drying off.

Dollar Tree has small coolers right now. These would be great for transport with a cold pack added.

No Not BEER!

I used to decorate cakes, mostly wedding cakes. I have daughter who decorate and one that has her own business. I used to transport my cakes in a case with a spring board or balance board in it. Basically it's 2 pieces of plywood with spring or another shock absorbing material between the boards. It works great for keeping things from shaking to pieces. ooooooo no more broken air cells maybe?? I was going to make one of my daughter, but I may do the same for the cooler.

Terry thank you so much for hangin in there girl.

I think we all need to mention this thread to others so they have a chance to join.

And I need someone or a few people to get some eggs to Terry so we can try this out. Not that we can;t get eggs to others if possible.

If that site gives enough info maybe everyone can figure out where they are willing to go.

Choo Choo
