Is there anyone who knows whether Greenwich CT has any town rules prohibiting residential chicken coops? Any setback rules, etc.?

I know it's been a long time since this was asked, but I know I came across this question when I was looking for an answer, so I thought I would share what I found for anyone looking in the future. I looked through the zoning regs and all I could find were rules that applied to keeping chickens for commercial purposes. That doesn't mean I didn't miss some regulations somewhere else, but it's what I wanted to hear so I'm running with it.

By the way Lindsey I'm in Riverside too. I think we'll try getting 2 or 3 chickens this spring. If you ever got your chickens did you find anywhere local to buy them or did you mail order them?

Just moved to Greenwich and looking to purchase 2-3 chickens. Researching types of coops. Also looked at the zoning, all I could find was commercial also.
Did you ever purchase your pullets?

A friend has chickens in riverside on a fairly small lot and she did the due diligence and said no problem for chickens. Last May we got 10 different types of chicks. I went through mypetchicken.com. Great experience. I did find someone locally just yesterday who is selling 30 types. Easton ct.

. Hope that helps. I would strongly recommend a variety and am happy to help in any way I can to you locals.

Thanks for the suggestion about the place in Easton. It looks like some others come up periodically on Craigslist as well.

We went to the place in Easton. Nice people. They just buy 50-100 extra chicks from mail order, raise them and sell them. They were beautiful but not anything like our extremely hand reared birds. We bought some Ameracaunas from them but they haven't fully integrated into our flock yet.

Hi, I live in Greenwich and just saw these posts. We just hatched 2 baby Rhode Island Red chicks. Have there been any rule changes since the last posts? And does anyone have a Rooster? And if so has anyone complained about it. Thanks

Hi there,
I just saw your blog...very helpful.
I’m moving to Greenwich (not far from downtown) and would like to have some chickens.
That said, I’m totally new to this and a beginner.
Is it best to get the chicks or raised chickens - if so any recommendations where? Also any ideas on a coop - where to buy or someone to build?
Would you recommend a certain time of year to start raising them?
Any ideas, thoughts or a place read to learn more would be great.
Thank you in advance
