HELP NEEDED - Macaw & Parrot Nesting Boxes...

Quote:
According to the guy, he went on vacation and left the baby macaws with a "Trusted Friend", She called him back because the babies were leaking, so he had to cut his trip short. At least thats what he told me. He's a registed nurse so he was able to stich them and clean the wounds. the babys look fine. They eat well, just they have a smaller crop... I guess its gonna take more feeding times with them. I have not decided yet on the babies... but Im still reasearching. I always stick my fingers in the food to find the temp. I always use warm to luke warm water, almost room temp, as long as I dont feel a freshness in the fingers or a higher warmth.

I feel bad for the babies, but I saw them a week after the accident, and they still have lots of vigor.

Hunter, my indoor hand raise African Grey is a little saint / monster. He only loves me, no one else. He's spoiled wrotton. Has a wonderul cage, a girl friend 1 yr older than him. I know there still young, but ive got them together so they can grow up together. When Hunter is loose, he flies around the house then lands on my shoulder, he loves my shoulder.

they are amazing animals. I love all the colors, and there individual personallites.

i feed a warmer temp. and i test it on my wrist, like a human baby, if its too hot for my wrist, too hot for their crops, but if too cool, they can get a crop that shuts down, food just sits there.
sugar, my congo, is my bird, hates my husband with a passion, had him since he was first weaned 34 years ago, honey, my husbands congo (hen) loves him, hates me lol, she talks in my voice, i find it very funny that sometimes honey calls him and he thinks its me and comes to see what i want lol
then we have baldy bean, as her name applies, shes a plucker, my girlfriend ask me to take her when she had to move into a smaller place and not enough room for beaner, i love it when i go to clean her cage and she says ahhh s---t, in my girlfriends voice lol birds are so funny at times and the congos put the words to the action, very smart birds.

WOW! Those are REALLY NICE nest boxes! Beats a garbage can by miles. I will keep my eye out for you. I live right near Magnolia Bird Farm (magnoliabirdfarms.com) and next time I go I will kee pan eye out at their next boxes, see if there is anything like that.

Could you send me a picture and/or directions/diminsions for your boot boxes? I have a pair of Princess of Wales parakeets and I need a boot box for them. I have a friend who can make them for me. Princesses have very long tails, that's why they need this type of nesting box. Thanks so much. You can send those to smacias 59 at msn dot com. Thanks so much! Sarah

Deerman, I am interested in purchasing your breeding boxes if no one took you up on it. Please send me the info, birdzword at aol dot com. Thanks, Bird
