For breakfast I gave them a big feed scoop of 1/2 BOSS and 1/2 cracked corn. And I just walked down there with yesterday's scraps of eggplant "guts", strawberry tops, and some lettuce. I also picked some leaves from my strawberry bushes and some weeds from the garden before making it to the run. They all really enjoyed their treats today. I only wish I could free range them more than I can. Maybe I'll let them out tonight for a little while before bed.

So far today mine have had frozen and unfrozen watermelon rinds (everyone in the family has started saving their rinds for us), greens and egg shells. Later they'll get the rest of the pork trimmings.

Mine got frozen watermelon rinds and a handful of cherry tomatoes. They also clean up the rabbit feed that I dump out when I put in fresh feed.

Who knew chickens were so much fun?

My girls had yogurt with frozen blueberries in it and egg shells and a few Cheerios.  Does anyone make something up ahead of time, like weekly that is specifically for their girls?  I was thinking about making up a batch of brown rice or spaghetti just for them to have in the fridge for a treat when I needed something.  Does anyone do this?

I just integrated my flock, and in order to tone down the chasing I gave grapes to each chicken. Munk and Joon just tore them up and ate the juices, Monica totally grubbed on them! She is my new girl and I am excited to have found a treat she enjoys!
