Cubalaya Thread For Sharing Pics and Discussing Our Birds

beautiful birds! correct me if I'm wrong here, but shouldn't the first one's legs be slate? I know no bird is perfect, just trying to learn

very interesting. so how do you describe a "furness"? reason I ask is I've gotten several different replies about this coloration in the gamefowl world. what some call polecat others call furness and I've seen some deep blacks with red leaking through called furness as well.

Don't know if this helps but in Gamefowl --

Furnace : Dark eyes and legs . The male golden colored feathers across the shoulders which are supposed to resemble a furnace rising from a coal black background. Black breast and saddle , body fiery red often tinging hackle and wing. Some of the hens show a little gold on some shoulder feathers otherwise black.

Polecat : These are black but have more red than Furnaces and of a lighter shade,sometimes extending to hackle and saddle. The hens are dark or black , with hackle to match cock.

Well I'm just curious, for the past 3 years I have looked at the Cubalayas and think they are soo pretty, but then I read that they can be noisy. 
I live on .44 acres with homes close, sooooo, don't want to noisy of a breed.  That is one reason I choose the Sicilian Buttercup over the Cubalaya.  But other than that they probably would have been my 1st choice.  Being near Houston, I need a bird that tolerates not only the heat but the humidity also.   

So are they that noisy to be a problem in close quarters, so to speak.  I would love to see them wander about the yard.
